Cindy Tey Cindy is Artsy Fartsy.

I love art.

With the SPM results I obtained, I could have studied medicine or law.

P1090372
But I chose art.

Today, I hold a Degree in Contemporary Arts, majoring in Theater.

Many people asked me, what IS performing arts? IS there anything to study in an art school? So what; you JUMP around like monkeys in class, and get grades for THAT?

Many do not realize the existence of art. Look around and observe your space. Is there art? Of course there's art. How the tables and chairs are arranged is also a work of art. Whether it is beautiful or not, that's subjective.

Art plays a very important role in our daily lives. It enriches it. I realized that those who love art are generally more appreciative towards every little thing in life. You'd be surprised how many people would just step on Mimosa Pudica /
pokok Semalu without noticing the beauty of a plant that's able to feel 'shy'; even if you were to touch it so gently with your pinky.

Based on my observation, Australians appreciate art more than we do. (no offense)

Even if it's in a small town with not much architecture value, there are outdoor activities organized for the villagers' fun and pleasure.

DSC08640
It could be as simple as a 'flying the kite parade'.

DSC08643
Do you know that there's also an art to eat ice-cream?
(:

When you're there, you automatically become more welcoming to incorporate outdoor activities into your life; like joining a picnic for lunch perhaps. Youths in Malaysia today look-up to fine dining and cool places to 'chill'.

But at 'chill' places, you miss out sweet sights like this.

I took a walk at a park one day and I thought this, looked like a bear hugging the tree! *imagination fades away...*

There are many elements in art. Music, arts, film, theater, fashion, or even cultural marketplaces... We just can't separate ourselves from the word a.r.t.

I know there's this marketplace every weekend at The Curve which sells multicultural things, but they miss out this element- Music.

This is a performance I happened to come across at Hobart. The tune this weird-looking instrument produces is surprisingly, jaw-dropping.

Pipe Piper looking for mice to kill? Hahaha... Maybe not.

Architecture
IS Art.

DSC03909
Literally art. Knowing that weather is unpredictable and rain is merciless, these pedestrian painters still kept on going with their love of art to impress passer-bys.

DSC04520
Piercing your body... *cough* Is also a form of art.

Food Tasting Trip 019
I wonder if we have such nice statue places in Malaysia. Do you know that this place also sells interesting costumes and creatively designed toys?

Food Tasting Trip 022
No life no art, no art no life.

Puppets = Theater = Performance = Art

DSC04512
Fashion
in unmistakably art.

DSC01649
Salamanca Market @ Tasmania is also full of art. And people.

DSC04517
Who can say food is not one of them? Now you know you can make hot apple juice at home, by adding in some cinnamon powder, or ginger too!

DSC01640
This
is art. In my eyes at least. HA HA HA!!!

DSC06386
Never have I seen this scene here.

DSC09189
Granted there's no sea in KL or it would be a landscape we'd all appreciate, but I've got a good news for all of you. =D
