I just came back from KL yesterday after my photoshoot, and interview for NewMan magazine. (have em' pictures but can't upload any because of copyright issues... haiyah!) So please do check out June's issue! Can't wait!!! (((((:
It feels so good to (finally) BE home - and it's very cool to be able to laze on my favourite couch which; seems to mold to hug your body perfectly as you do your leisure reading with the companion of good music, without someone coming into the room and (a) passes wind (b) shouts for their mother miles away (c) analyzes personalities (d) smokes (e) blasts "catwalk music".

Have been exxxtremmmely busy lately ever since the 29th of April; have some doors opened for me so far, and hopefully more opportunities to come too! Wish I could have more time to sleep or go online tho... Truly sorry for the no-reply mailsss, neglected inboxes, and messages on my walls. I'll reply every single one of them a.s.a.p. if there's something u need to change, it's the way u speak and to be more accommodative.instead of me myself and i,maybe u could think of we, us , everyone..in this way, u are in the group at the same time considering others :)

Although you were not my personal favourite choice to win a modelling competition, MDG certainly wasn't set up as one in the first place. And I hope that winning will give you the exposure to the fields you needed entry to. I don't believe you don't deserve it at all... you won fair and square, and those that say otherwise are just a little blinded.
I admire your confidence, strength, and your very loving family. So enjoy your win and the accompanying perks. And your bob makes you look a lot sharper and smarter. Consider keeping it ;) Long straight hair is very ordinary.

hey, who say no one vote for Cindy, i vote for her lerrr...although i don't know u Cindy, but i just want to support you, just feel that u actually are the real girl in the house. Nevertheless, forget the past and continue to pursue your dream. But one thing i would like to advise you that, do not be too real, always be a good pretender even though u actually know that the person who dislike you or purposely want to hurt/harm you. I was outraged by the way people treated you, yes, including the judges. I made every attempt to stand up for in in Facebook and got negative feedback as well. I think you totally deserve to win the title because you are passionate about what you do, and you have GUTS! You didn't shed a tear when you were... in lack of a better word: bullied.

If they really want to see someone improve and have that holier than thou attitude, then gang bullying and using profanities is certainly not the way, it just shows their true character.
If I was in Malaysia I would have voted for you! I am so glad you take criticism because you want to improve! Not like those ppl who think they are alrdy so perfect to criticize you in such a malicious way. The way they condemn you was as if you just committed the holocaust! I couldn't believe it!

ReplyDeleteMDG was less than entertaining for those us who were watching internationally. I speak for many here in Europe (Malaysians and non-Malaysians alike) that think you're far from beautiful (models don't need to be beautiful - so there's no problem there), far from tall enough (the harsh truth, I apologise if it's offensive), far from the ideal Malaysian girl, and finally, your command and grasp of the English language is questionable. If you got anything less than a band 8 for IELTS, please stop mentioning anything about your language abilities. There are hundreds of models who can't speak English.
The fashion industry is a cruel one. While I think you will do very well in Malaysia, do remember that internationally you will not have as much support, you will never measure up to real models who are physically much more appealing, and your tarnished reputation will carry you further than any real effort you make.
That said, use ALL forms of publicity, be it good or bad. Also,do remember that you come from a rich family, and that you have been gifted with all of life's little luxuries. Even to those of us who take a neutral stand, you came across as spoiled and somewhat bitchy. Not a good thing. By the way, we loved Jimmy Lim. He's fabulous.

ReplyDeleteCongratulation!! To be honest I didn't like you at first when i started watching you on MDG at first. Maybe because of what others said of you. It's a plot to make the whole show more interesting? First few episode, Ringo was targeted, then you and near the end of the show Nadia.
Somewhere through the middle of the show I started to admire your courage for standing up for yourself and dislike how others was targeting you to make themselves look better.

HOnestly, Cindy, I don't quite like you from the start. Maybe it was the accent you have? Maybe it was the way you carry yourself? I mean, I'm sure other contestants would bad mouth those who are in the house too but why didn't the producers air that too? Even Ringo is upset about this.
To those out there who think Cindy is shallow because she complains to her parents about this certain 'indu po' or 'malai po', think again. You are the shallow ones are u did not think about what the other contestants are saying to their family members behind the scenes.

I've followed the show and I don't hate you but neither do I think you deserve to win coz your pictures suck and you appear to be to ah lian-ish to me. but then again i dont think hanis and adeline deserve to win either, hanis is just to manja and shit and saying how much her friends think she was being herself on tv and such just sounds like a blatant like and boastful to me. she was prolly herself in that whole manja and macam macam thing going on. adeline lacks of personality and she can't speak english to save her life.
ReplyDeletebut i must admin i cant believe that in one of the episode you actually said something like "yeah if my dad spent 15k for me yours also can spend 16 k what" or something along that line of bullshit. so you do know that the small fanbase you have here is really not good enough to win this. i really think MDG needs to be improved and every week maybe allow 40% of sms votes and 60% of judges' decision influence the elimination.
i mean girl, don't you HONESTLY think you photos suck? seriously. as i said, i don't hate you, i'm not a fan of any of the other two finalists either but the ONLY picture of you that turned out relatively well is the one guided by Jimmy during the shoot.
i guess money does play a big part afterall which MDG probably thought it could be made by using Ringo but oh no they were wrong.

I wanted to comment more yesterday but I was in the middle of something. Anyway, lets recap back what I wanted to say...
ReplyDeleteSee, to be honest, at the beginning of MDG, I was not too much of your fan especially with the "crying scene" when Jean pulled out from the competition.
However, I grew to like your courage and the way you handle the bias situation in the house. In addition, I noticed how bias the MDG has been in showing all the good sides on other contestants while showing the bad sides of you. On top of that, I love the close bond relationship between you and your family. The way they commented on your conversation between your dad was totally over the line because... I believe, this is how we sometimes speak to our family... where we speak without holding back our boundaries... THIS IS WHY WE CALL FAMILY ...!!!
Coming back to bias, I felt that Elaine is being very obvious and so unprofessional at the finale. A few things I've noted include:
1. Make your dad a laughing stock.
2. How she stress that the winner is based on sms votes and not on judge's opinion AKA don't blame me if you don't like the winner... blame Cindy's dad because this is a sms voting system.
3. During the last part where she announced you as the winner, instead of inviting you to do the catwalk, she bluntly put it... Cindy could you please take your walk... duh!
And you are so right about Hanis' face expression.
Moreover, if Elaine as one of the judge could be so bias, it is not a surprise that the MDG production crew could also be as bias as her. Therefore, the value of reliability and validity of the show itself is very questionable. I believe in most cases, you have been misunderstood and misinterpreted.
I am glad that Alison got out at the beginning of the contest because.. by looking at the way she tries so hard to pull you down @ Epi 18 shows what sort of person she really is and only a shallow person would agree with her.
I was very disappointed at Jay because I thought she was someone sensible until she got eliminated.. she totally changed into another person altogether.
Not to forgetting Val whom I thought was your friend until Epi 18 where she never helps to defend you but has been talking things behind your back.
And I don't want to talk about ah-lian Adeline.
Or the shallow supporters of Hanis... I presume anyone who is relective enough would have know why Hanis joined the competition in the first place.
Regardless, you've won me over. I've grown to know that you are truly the only person in the house that's not hypocrite. Please ignore the others when they said you only have your families that supported you but I can assure you that you have fans who supported you, included myself. Although I am not in Malaysia, I've asked a few of my close friends to vote for you because you deserve it. Lastly, I am happy to see that you've grown so much, stronger and better and more mature.

I re-iterate from my previous post, what goes on from here is how strong you are, how people perceive you, it's still not too late to change people's perception towards you. You chose this path, you chose to be strong. You've come this far because you're bold enough.

Hey. I didn't follow the show every week when it was aired on tv or online. Just watched it all at once about a week ago from the MDG website as i'm currently studying in the UK. Anyway, its tough eh even after winning the title (whichever way you won it, based on what others said etc..)? Just thought of saying hang in there girl, this win is an opportunity you must seize and don't let it go to waste. I'm sure you already know that. People will always say things to bring you down (whether it may be the truth or some made up rant). Make the most of this and most importantly, never forget that everything in life is a learning step and just chill... enjoy it! :D

But reading this post gives me a nasty impression of a petulant, immature sore loser and ungracious winner. Very off-putting indeed. If people have indeed treated you badly, you would have seen no reason to be spiteful and make snide remarks on your blog, and take the past gracefully.
Also, successful bloggers never moderate comments except when necessary(racial slurs and such). If this comment is deleted it will serve to further deepen my first impression of you.

They only need to spend like lets say RM20k to get their kid a car and also RM10k prepaid credit card. It is a sweet deal. Why wouldnt they do it. Of course they would, it is the sweetest deal ever for any parent to think that they only need to spend RM20k to get their kid a brand new car. That is already the down payment for a car. Soo i am sure they knew what to do, when to do it, and of course they knew there were not breaking any rules.

HI cindy, i watched mdg, and when i realised that my favs were being eliminated, i stopped watching it. Then i heard that you won. Look I cant say whether you deserve to win or not, but what i can say is that i completely agree with elaine, on your comments. I think you should be very careful in this industry when you say something on your blog as this industry in malaysia is v small and i think if you want this as bad as you said you do on the show, my best advise is start playing your cards right and better start "pr"ing with some people in this industry and the best way you can do is to start with people you already know like sazzy and elaine as they are already very well established in the entertainment industry. Alternatively, you have a very typical chinese face, i suggest that you try something in astro aec :)

ReplyDeleteThough I'm not much a fan of MDG, I do watch it from time to time just to update myself on what's happening, and here is just a couple of things I wanna share..
Truth is, I favor Jay more than any of the girls in MDG cause I think she is the only one that has the real thing. And I really think that your winning is really so-so but heck, may the best girl with more votes win and you got it. Congrats.
Nevertheless, I hope you'll be someone's idol soon to be looked upon to, and keep your personality bubbly and cheerful as always but modest and kind at the same time. Now you're a step closer to fame and I do hope you'll use your fame for good reasons. ;)
